Rhodes, Betty - Originals: Happiness is reflected in all of Betty Rhodes’ art, whether paintings, still lifes, figures, animals or landscapes. Her unerring eye and imaginative approach evokes a warm and wonderful feeling. Happy subjects and bright, fresh colors attract the sophisticated art patron as well as the young collector. She has shown extensively in Texas and is represented in private collections throughout the United States.
Rhodes attended Hunters School of Art in San Antonio and has studied with many of the country’s leading artists; including Joseph Mandez, Scott Christensen, Matt Smith, Don Ward, Ray Vinella, Ann Templeton and Charles Sovek. Rhodes is a native Texan, now residing in Wimberley, where she paints full time.
“I consider myself to be a colorist and an impressionist. My work is more than just a copy of a particular scene or still life. I bring what I feel about the scene and attempt to interpret that in a painterly manner.”
