Allen, Charles:

Charles Allen turned from the practice of Pharmacy to professional art as a metal sculptor. He studies in minute detail the botanical structure and cycle of each flower and develops the composition realistically. Each piece is hand-cut from a variety of metals, shaped and soldered together. A multiple painting process completes the flower after which it is identified and signed.

Allen's work has been shown in galleries throughout the United States and is included in many private and municipal collections. He has been honored with the award, "Best Metal Sculpture-Professional Category" in the State Fair of Texas; a one man show at the Heard Natural Science Museum, Wildflower Artist of the Year; by the Texas Women's University; a special exhibition of state wildflowers at the National Arboretum in Washing D.C. during the Bicentennial; and two special exhibitions at famed Callaway Gardens in Georgia.

Allen's work has been featured in "Southwest Art Magazine" and other art publications.

From tall floor pieces featuring drifts of wild flowers to small clumps of Bluebonnets, Blue-Eyed Grass, Primroses and Morning Glories, the sculptures of Charles Allen have captivated all who view them.
