Antony, Laura - Originals:

Laura Antony is a Rockwall area artist who has been painting for over twenty years. She has studied art in many different mediums at Northeast Louisiana University, Texas A&M Commerce, within the Dallas County Community College District, and has trained under several area Master Painters. She has traveled to Italy twice to study the art of the Italian masters, and has fine-tuned her skills by attending workshops by Gregg Kreutz, David Leffel, and Jean Chambers. Laura is an Associate Member of the Oil Painters of America.

Laura recently retired from a seven-year position as Art Instructor at Heritiage Christian Academy to meet the growing demands of her own career as an artist. She juggles a happy marriage, three teenage children, and church activities, with her time in the studio. Although she enjoys experimenting in many art mediums, she has chosen (for now) to focus on her first love -- oil painting the still life in the tradition of the Old Masters. She continues to explore all the fascinating possibilities that the play of light and color can create.
